2011/03/24 IPEQ project started successfully in Romania

The programme "Support 4 Print Learning" has been launched in Romania by ATT (Asociatia Tipografilor "Transilvania" – Printers Association "Transilvania") between the 22nd of February and the 25th of March 2011. This programme is a part of the Initiative for Printers' Education and Qualification (IPEQ) of the Balkan Print Forum (BPF) supported by manroland AG.

"Support 4 Print Learning" has been introduced in several events of 14 towns in Romania. It has been attended by specialists, teachers and students of technical classes specialized in printing technology as well as by ATT members. The managers of some printing houses expressed their willingness to offer the students of the technical schools professional visits and trainings in their companies.

At the events Ms. Mirela Marica, Executive Director of ATT, informed about the new programme, that will be run in the period March – June 2011, and explained the aims and perspectives, the activities and the expected results. Mr. Dan Teodorescu, Managing Director manroland Romania, has presented the lecture of prof. Gerd Finkbeiner, Chairman of the Executive Board, manroland AG – "One Touch – autoprint, manroland's Perspective Print 2020 for the newspaper production of the future". This innovative and ground-breaking lecture has been provided by manroland AG within the educational initiative of the Balkan Print Forum. The events' attendees have been informed about the new IPEQ website www.ipeq.org, a functional platform for the print manufacturers, the printing industry and the technical schools and universities in the BPF member and partner countries. Detailed information has been given also about the e-learning platform www.learn4printing.com. At the end of 2010 manroland AG, the patron of the Balkan Print Forum, has provided the contact to PrintPromotion, the developer of this platform. Till now sixty-five teachers and two hundred students in Romania requested access to it. ATT announced also that a competition on printing occupational categories, with theoretical and practical testing, will take place in May 2011. "Support 4 Print Learning" will be finalized in June 2011 before the end of the Romanian school year.

The purpose of the programme is to create a true partnership between the schools and all the players in the Romanian printing industry.
